Four carozzas were processioned for this year's traditional Procesión de los Pasos. Under the administration of Msgr. Antonio Quintana, the procession was moved from Maundy Thursday to Holy Tuesday and processioning only the Mater Dolorosa and Santo Entierro on Good Friday.
Here are the highlights of the procession. Check photos below.
Bantayan Island, Cebu has been known for Holy Week Procession having life-size statues, well-decorated and well-lighted carrozzas. These statues are processioned every Good Friday, locally called as Biernes Santo to commemorate the Passion of Christ.
Check the photos below to see more carozzas depicting the suffering of Jesus.
Photos of the Santo Entierro, "Haya", or the Holy Burial will be posted on another article.

Situated in an ancestral house in Basak-Pardo, Cebu City, Jumalon Butterfly Sanctuary and Art Gallery offers an amazing tour ranging from paintings to collections. You don't just get to see thousands of butterflies around the world, you get to see art near to perfection! Was amazed by the museum-worth butterfly collection, egg collection, coin collection, lepido-mosaic paintings - a way of painting introduced by Prof. Juan Jumalon using the wings of the butterflies.
It was a fun-filled experience though I came to the sanctuary alone but was never lonely! I enjoyed the pleasure of going somewhere I've never been with the company of myself.
The Carozza of the Mater Dolorosa is one of the most well-decorated carozza in our place. The antique statue is processioned thrice during the Lenten Season, the Friday before the Holy Week, Maundy Thursday, and Good Friday. The family-in-charge had been consistent in making the grieving Mother Mary surrounded with fresh and beautiful flowers. In their homes, they grow several breeds of orchids and various kinds of anthuriums which they also use to decorate for the Good Friday.
The statue has also different colors of the veil. They put on violet on Maundy Thursday and change it to black on Good Friday.
Taken in San Fernando, Cebu.

Make your candles burn longer even for hours. I've tried this at home and it's really effective.
I had lighted this one for 2 straight hours but it can still be lighted for additional 3 hours or even longer.
Amazing, isn't it? Here's how.
1. Place a candle in the middle of the glass by melting its bottom. I suggest you use a candle that's about 3/4 of the height of the glass. This would prevent the flame to be disturbed by the wind. You can also use empty bottles of mayonnaise or other commercial products. Make sure it's not made of plastic or else it will be burned by the flame.
2. Place a little amount of salt inside the glass and around the candle. The salt will help the wick of the candle to burn slowly.
3. Pour oil inside the glass leaving about enough length of the wick of the candle. Make sure you don't wet the wick of the candle or else you will have hard time of lighting the candle. You can use cooking oil even those you have already used in the kitchen.
There you go! You're candle is ready. You can light it anytime when you're ready.
Decorated with white fresh flowers, Bantayan's Carozza of the Santo Entierro looks very regal and heavenly among all other carozzas during the Good Friday Procession.
The antique statue of Jesus is placed in a canopy-designed bed highly elevated enough for someone to see the statue even 20 meters away. It is decorated with white anthuriums, Malaysian mums and wild chrysanthemums.

Let us help Bantayan Island rebuild the hope and spirit of their people, their paradise, their home. Three towns in the island were severely devastated. Until now, many were left homeless and starving. They badly need FOOD, WATER, TEMPORARY SHELTER, MEDICINES & USED CLOTHING.
Let's help them get back on their feet.

In the heart of the Shoe Capital and the Heritage City of Cebu, Carcar City, nestles a historical rotunda.
The roundabout is believed to be a hub where ancestors of Carcar had settled to avoid assaults in Valladolid. During the administration of Mayor Mariano Mercado, a kiosk was built inside the rotunda.
The rotunda maneuvers vehicles to Barili to the west, San Fernando to the north, and Sibonga to the south.
It is also considered to be the busiest street in the city considering that the public market is just a stone-throw away. Check out some photos below.
